Pragyan, the Annual International Techno-Managerial Fest of NIT Trichy, is back in its 22nd edition. Scheduled to be held from February 19 to 22, Pragyan –an ISO 9001 and 20121 certified event continues to stand tall as one of NIT Trichy’s proudest legacies.  The fest that inspires students, challenges limits, and celebrates innovation, is gearing up for conducting a wide array of events, workshops, guest lectures and much more driven by the powerful theme: “Anachronia”.

Here’s a quick snapshot of the exciting activities of Pragyan.

Exhibitions, Sangam, Ingenium: Pragyan hosts OpenHouse every year, a two-day event designed to spotlight student innovation. Bringing together projects from multiple departments and technical clubs, it gives students a platform to present their work, highlight key features, and demonstrate real-world problem-solving potential to faculty and investors. OpenHouse not only helps these ideas gain the attention they deserve, but also pushes them a step closer to real-world implementation.

Ingenium is Pragyan’s national-level technical contest that draws in aspiring minds from across the country, fostering fresh ideas and creative thinking that spark innovations across fields crucial to society’s growth and development. Sangam, Pragyan’s flagship hardware hackathon, provides a hands-on platform for NIT Trichy students to tackle real-world challenges, building practical solutions that create impact at the grassroots level. The prize of both sangam and Ingenium is worth around ₹3,00,000 combined. The hackathons have problem statements issued by the Indian Navy. The hackathon receives nearly 1600+ participants from 200+ colleges from PAN India, making it one of the most important student run competitions in the nation.

Events, Workshops, Guest Lectures and Debate: Pragyan hosts a wide range of events, workshops, guest lectures, and debates, creating an experience that caters to every kind of enthusiast. With multiple events organized under seven clusters, Pragyan spans diverse fields such as management, coding, hardware, robotics, and much more, all while maintaining the highest standards expected from a fest conducted on such a large scale.

Pragyan also conducts a large variety of workshops in collaboration with renowned companies like Linux, Samsung, Mercedes, and more. These workshops provide attendees with hands-on experience in domains of their choice, helping them build practical skills and setting them up for future endeavors in their respective fields.

Adding to the fest’s impact are the guest lectures, graced by the presence of numerous industry leaders and revolutionists who visit Pragyan to share their journeys and experiences. Their insights inspire the thousands who attend, while also guiding them through thoughtful perspectives and invaluable advice. For the 22nd edition we have an incredible lineup of personalities like Seema Alavi, Anbarasan Thangavelu, Ravi Balakrishna and Deepika Bhardwaj to name a few.

Pragyan’s flagship debate, Crossfire, is among the most anticipated events of the fest. It brings together eminent political personalities from across India at NIT Trichy to discuss matters of social and economic importance, alongside well-known and successful moderators who ensure the most meaningful and fruitful discussions take place. The panelists are Harish Mahadevan , Aishwariya Manivanan, Rashmi Samant, Rahul Easwar, A R Venkatachalapathy and Apoorv Anand..

Social Responsibility and Other Outreach Events: As a part of Pragyan’s outreach, students create platforms such as the Pragyan Blog and the Pragyan Podcast, hosted on Medium and Spotify respectively. These initiatives act as a transparent channel of communication between the student community and the world, where creativity and academic curiosity are consistently encouraged and nurtured. Through such media, Pragyan ensures its voice and ideas reach even the farthest corners of the globe.

The Pragyan Social Responsibility team focuses on giving back to every section of society by conducting impactful initiatives throughout the year. One such event is Techids, where young minds are nurtured through workshops conducted by various technical clubs of NIT Trichy, offering them an early glimpse into the infinite opportunities and scope they can grow into. The social responsibility team went to 4 schools in the neighbouring districts of Trichy and engaged with nearly 400+ students. Another event is Bag of delight where the social responsibility team goes to government schools and organises programmes for them. The social responsibility team went to Kattur matriculation school and engaged with 300 students and is planning to go to Al Hauda orphanage to conduct similar programmes for the children ther.

Infotainment: It is the branch of Pragyan dedicated to student entertainment throughout the fest. From electrifying fire and light shows to thrilling aerial stunts, they curate experiences that keep the energy at its peak. They also bring in the most awaited and spellbinding pro shows, attended by the entire Pragyan student community. While keeping the spirit of a Techno-Managerial celebration alive, Infotainment also fosters a sense of culture and belongingness, making it an essential pillar of a fest as large-scale and significant as Pragyan. We have an entertaining sequence of artists like the unique crew, akhil nair, fluteboxers and the laser man show.

Pragyan is more than just a fest. It is an expression of everything the student community stands for, and everything an institution like NIT Trichy represents in its commitment to student enrichment and growth. With the 22nd Edition approaching, the bar is set higher than ever, but every challenge will be met as Pragyan ’26 Anachronia is now only a few days away.
