ABWA teams win at World Scholar’s Cup 2023

Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA), Mumbai, has said that its students have won at the Grand Finale of The World Scholar’s Cup 2023, held at Yale University last week. In the Junior Division, ABWA’s students won impressive accolades, with 8 Gold and 12 Silver medals. In the Senior Division, two formidable ABWA teams dominated the competition, winning a remarkable 28 Gold and 11 Silver medals across the 4 levels of competition, including Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Scholar’s Bowl. The finale witnessed nearly 2000 scholars from across the globe participating in various academic competitions under the theme ‘Revisiting the Past’.

As per a statement from the school, the stellar performance of the students is a tremendous testament to Indian academic excellence, bringing laurels to the country on a global forum. The final round highlighted the importance of team debates and creative writing skills, providing a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate the art of debating on an international platform and foster a spirit of collaboration with peers from other schools.

The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) is a global educational competition that is meticulously crafted to empower students to push boundaries and showcase their diverse talents worldwide. The competition commenced with the Regional Round(Mumbai), followed by the Global Round (Bangkok) culminating in the Final Round at Yale University.

From the Mumbai Regional Round to the Bangkok Global Round and now the prestigious Tournament of Champions at Yale, this roadmap has enriched our students’ academic perspectives and instilled in them a spirit of global citizenship.
