Global College of Pharmaceutical Technology, the pharmaceutical arm of Global Knowledge Campus, hosted a 4 day conference discussing global health challenges along with a multidisciplinary workshop on Real-Time  PCR (RT-PCR), a cornerstone technology in molecular diagnostics. The event brought together academia, industry, and public health experts to discuss RT-PCR’s transformative role in virology, drug development, and clinical diagnostics, with a special focus on lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Global Knowledge Campus provided a noteworthy platform for the conference from 6th March to 9th March, with over one thousand and two hundred attendees, including researchers, students, and representatives from various sectors. The 4-day conference event was a success, particularly for a tier-2 city. The event focused on timely and relevant subjects, such as viral threats like COVID-19, and addressed critical gaps in technical expertise by offering insights into optimizing RT-PCR workflows, minimizing errors, and applying findings to clinical decision-making.

The conference featured a range of insightful scientific talks and hands-on sessions. Notably, Sk Erfanul (Molecular Biologist, Dept. of Microbiology, Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital) provided a deep dive into COVID-19 detection, emphasizing the critical importance of data accuracy in clinical diagnostics. Mr. Tamal Kumar Das (Senior Area Sales Manager, Athenese DX Pvt. Ltd) bridged the gap between industry and academia by simplifying RT-PCR workflows and highlighting cost-effective innovations. Mrs. Shrestha Mukherjee (Technical Officer, NICED—NACO-funded Early Infant Diagnostic Project) showcased the impact of RT-PCR on early HIV diagnosis, and Mr. Vishal Bhutoria (Director, Drug Assays Solution Pvt Ltd; Founder, Ambay Enterprises) underscored its relevance in drug development and personalized medicine. Mr. Debashish Dutta (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, GCPT) discussed the historical role of RT-PCR in combating viral threats.

Naresh Chandra Das, Chairman of Global Knowledge Campus, emphasizes that “At Global Knowledge Campus, we are dedicated to fostering innovation and hands-on learning to prepare future scientists and healthcare professionals. GIPCON 2025 exemplifies our commitment to bridging academic knowledge with real-world applications, ensuring our students and researchers are equipped to address emerging health challenges with advanced technology like RT-PCR.”

Subhankar Das, Executive Chairman of Global Knowledge Campus, adds, “The overwhelming participation at GIPCON 2025 reaffirms our mission to create a platform where academia, industry, and healthcare converge to drive scientific breakthroughs. This workshop not only highlighted the importance of molecular diagnostics in combating viral threats but also empowered attendees with critical technical expertise, strengthening the future of healthcare innovation.”

Witnessing the success of the 4-day event, Prof. (Dr.) Nripendra Nath Bala, Principal & Organizing Secretary, GIPCON-25, Global College of Pharmaceutical Technology, Global Knowledge Campus, stated “This is the 1st International Conference & Pharmaceutical Workshop (GIPCON-25) at Global College of Pharmaceutical Technology, Krishnagar, concluded on exceeding beyond the expectations. We are really happy how these knowledge-sharing sessions on health advancements show enthusiasm which was noteworthy in itself.  I would like to extend my gratitude to  the dedicated team, volunteers, and management, notably Executive Chairman Subhankar Das, whose strategic push boosted attendance and nationwide streaming visibility. The success marked a milestone for the college, enhancing its reputation among top institutions in West Bengal and beyond, while fostering connections with students and researchers across India and abroad.”

The conference also included an interactive lab demonstration on RNA extraction and equipment calibration, as well as a data interpretation masterclass where participants could hone their skills in analysing RT-PCR’s results and troubleshooting errors.
