The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) and the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11 March 2025 aimed at promoting academic excellence. The agreement was sealed in a ceremony at CUTN’s campus at Thiruvarur.

The MoU was signed by Prof. R. Thirumurugan, Registrar of CUTN, and Dr. Lina Acca Mathew, Registrar of NUALS. The event was presided over by Prof. M. The collaboration between these two institutions will primarily focus on advancing legal education and research through various initiatives. The objectives outlined in the MoU include joint research projects in areas of mutual interest, offering student internship opportunities at both universities, organizing joint workshops, conferences, and seminars, and introducing new elective and certificate courses that will enrich the academic experiences of students across both institutions.

Prof. M. Krishnan expressed his enthusiasm over the partnership, stating, “This collaboration is a remarkable opportunity for both CUTN and NUALS to join forces and create an ecosystem that encourages academic growth, research, and innovation in the field of law.”

The signing of this MoU is expected to benefit students, faculty members, and researchers by providing access to a broader pool of resources, expertise, and learning platforms. Students will gain valuable exposure to advanced legal research while having access to internships that will provide them with practical experience in the legal field.
