Happy Valley Business School, a leading stand-alone AICTE affiliated B-School in Coimbatore affiliated to Anna University, Chennai is encouraging its students to get involved in internships. The intent is to encourage students to build a strong foundation for their career and streamline the journey from campus to corporate. This is an important part when they start their career.
The two-month internship “Begin Your Ascent” by AscentHR, a leader in HR Solutions, Payroll, Benefits and Compliance Services was announced early November, 2020. Students from various specializations and courses from Happy Valley Business School participated in this internship.

The highlights of the internship were:
• Exposure to organizations’ structure, policies & procedures
• On-the-job training on a specific domain
• Networking and Leadership connect

Commenting on the internship, Dr. C. Kanagaraj, CEO, Happy Valley Business School said, “We have been encouraging our students to connect with corporates as a matter of preparation to begin their professional journey. We are concerned about grooming our youth and sending them off into their next phase of productive life with the tools required to grow professionally. “Begin your Ascent” is a great opportunity that we found to be very well-structured. Our promising students benefited immensely by observing the inner workings of a truly professionally-run organization.”

This batch, which started on 15th November, 2020 and concluded on 19th February, 2021 focused on the Payroll & Compliance domain was tailored to meet the demands of the market.
Dr. T. Bina, Principal, Happy Valley Business School mentioned, “An internship not only benefits students but also the organization in channeling bright young graduates into the company’s talent pool. Our students were very keen about this internship. As we hoped, it provided them real-time exposure to the corporate world. It has proved very useful in adding domain-related expertise and on-the-job training”.
The overall feedback received from the students after the internship touched upon multiple dimensions of the corporate world experience. The students found this internship giving them a view of corporate culture and an operational work environment. In addition to helping them build confidence, the internship program gave them timeless understanding about the grooming and etiquette, behavioral aspects, and professionalism that are expected at a workplace.
Speaking at the concluding session of the valedictory event, Subramanyam S, CEO & Founder of AscentHR, said, “We wish to help the graduating student community who are at the crucial cusp of transforming into full-fledged professionals by stressing the importance of soft skills, the openness towards communication, participative attitude, and most of all, professionalism. We share the collective responsibility of molding a responsible and agile workforce within our capacity.”
In this valedictory event conducted at AscentHR’s Bangalore headquarters, an evening with a few modules on “Employability and Professionalism” followed by some rollicking fun flagged off the newly-minted professionals on their way to make fulfilling careers.
