Shri Ram Chandra Mission, a non-profit educational and spiritual service organization that has been promoting heart-based living through meditation as a means to universal peace and harmony, has announced its All India Essay Writing Event in partnership with different institutions of India. This year marks the 32nd successive year of the Event. Udaan Youth Club (UYC) is one of the partner institutions of Heartfulness Essay Event 2024, encouraging youth from all backgrounds to participate in this essay writing event.
Contest Details
Through the Heartfulness Essay Event, participants are invited to tap into their inner space, tune in to the soft voice of the heart that never fails to guide and inspire, and express in words their experiences related to the theme of this year’s Event.
Participants may write their essays in any ONE of the following languages: English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu.
Categories and Topics
Category 1 [Ages 14-18 years]: Word Limit 500
Topic: “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford
Category 2 [Ages 19-25 years]: Word Limit 750
Topic: “Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before.” – Elizabeth Edwards
Contest Guidelines
- There is no charge for participation.
- Participants may select any one of the 12 optional languages to write the essay on the topic specified for their category.
- The essay must be typed or handwritten on A4 size paper. Essays may be handwritten in black or blue ink or computer typed in a relevant prescribed script for each language.
- The participant’s name, father’s name, age, and name of institution must be written on every page of the essay.
- Please mention the total number of words of the essay after the concluding paragraph.
- Submitted entries must not bear any appeals, illustrations, or slogans.

The scanned copy of the essay (Max size 3 MB) must be uploaded on the Heartfulness website via this link.
Submission Deadline
Last date for submission is August 30, 2024.
Awards and Recognitions
- Winners and Runners-Up: Trophy and certificate in each of the 12 authorized languages for both categories.
- Certificates with Rank: Awards for essays ranked third to tenth in each language and category.
- Merit Certificates: E-Merit Certificates for the top 10% of entries shortlisted by the jury.
- Certificate of Participation: E-certificates for all participants meeting the participation criteria.
