Hyderabad-based Mahindra University will play host to the Bharat Higher Education Summit 2025 (BHES), being organised by the Confederation of Indian Private Universities (CIPU) in association with Hyderabad-based Mahindra University’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC-MU). Vice Chancellors from more than 150+ leading universities across India are expected.

The forum aims to serve as a transformative platform to shape the future of higher education in India under the theme ‘Building Next Generation Leaders in Higher Education.’

The two-day event will feature keynotes, plenary sessions and panel discussions with thought leaders, policymakers, academic visionaries and industry stalwarts. The sessions will address specific challenges and opportunities in academic leadership, research capacity building, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and innovation in Indian higher education, providing valuable insights for our esteemed audience.

Dr. Yajulu Medury, Chairperson, CIPU Southern India Regional Council and Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University, said, “BHES 2025 is an effort to bring together visionary academic leaders to chart a collective course for building globally competent, future-ready institutions and bridge the gap between industry and academia. Mahindra University is proud to facilitate and be at the forefront of this crucial dialogue on leadership, research, innovation, and policy.”

Dr. Rahul V Karad, Chief Patron, CIPU and Executive President, MIT-World Peace University, said “Leadership in education today requires agility, global thinking, and deep-rooted values. BHES 2025 will play a vital role in cultivating academic leaders who are not only administrators, but visionaries committed to social transformation and global competitiveness.”

The inaugural session, to be held on April 23rd, will feature Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, and Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, Executive Committee, NAAC and Chairman, NBA. Other key dignitaries include Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Pathak, Honorary President, CIPU, Mr. Murali Bukkapatnam, Chairman, Global Board of Trustees, TiE; and Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Shirude, Honorary Vice President, CIPU.

Plenary sessions scheduled for April 24 will explore a diverse range of forward-looking topics, stimulating academic leadership in the next decade, education as soft power, public-private partnership in research capacity building, leadership skills for the digital age, and fostering entrepreneurial mindsets in academia and leadership in research and innovation.

Speakers of these sessions include professors and representatives from several universities, including Virginia Tech, Savitribai Phule Pune University, NICMAR University, BITS Pilani, IIM Tiruchirappalli, Sarla Birla University, Sri Sri University, Symbiosis International University, Berlin School of Business and Innovation, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and many more.
