BITS School of Management (BITSoM), under the aegis of BITS Pilani, has formally signed an agreement with the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School to launch a dual-degree pathway that combines BITSoM’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) with the Carey Business School’s Master of Science in Finance (MSF), with a concentration in Financial Data Science. The bilateral agreement was recently executed by Dr. Saravanan Kesavan, Dean at BITSoM, Dr. Alexander Triantis, Dean of the Carey Business School, and Dr. Stephen Gange, Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at The Johns Hopkins University.
The formal recognition of the partnership took place in Mumbai, in the presence of Prof. Lasse Mertins, Vice Dean for Education and Partnerships, and Dr. Oksana Carlson, Associate Dean for Global Collaborations, from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
Under the terms of the agreement, BITSoM students will benefit from a credit-recognition framework that reduces the time and course load required to complete the MS in Finance degree at the Carey Business School. After earning the MBA degree at BITSoM, admitted students will fulfill the remaining required credits at Carey’s locations in Baltimore or Washington, D.C., over two semesters during the fall and spring terms.
The dual-degree pathway is open to both current BITSoM MBA students applying in their second year of study and BITSoM alumni who have graduated within the previous three years. Applicants must complete their MBA degree at BITSoM prior to matriculating at Johns Hopkins University. The program will officially commence in Fall 2027. Enrolled students will be fully integrated into the Johns Hopkins academic community, receiving complete access to campus facilities, student services, the Carey Career and Life Design office and global alumni networks.
Commenting on the strategic partnership, Prof. Saravanan Kesavan, Dean of BITSoM, said, “This collaboration with Johns Hopkins Carey Business School marks a significant milestone in expanding global academic opportunities for our students. By combining BITSoM’s rigorous MBA foundation with advanced learning at a premier global institution, we are empowering our graduates to gain cutting-edge expertise and international exposure that will position them for leadership roles on the global stage.”
Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Alexander Triantis, Dean of Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, stated, “We are delighted to partner with BITSoM to welcome exceptional students into our community. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to academic excellence and global engagement, offering BITSoM graduates access to our world-class faculty, rigorous curriculum, and vibrant professional networks in the United States.”
