The Gera School (TGS), Goa recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art auditorium and new sports facilities on its campus. The new auditorium aims to provide students with up-to-date infrastructure which can empower them to showcase their art, talent, and knowledge gained through the curriculum to the outside world in the best possible manner. Accordingly, it is equipped with high-end acoustics and lighting technology, well designed green rooms and waiting spaces, and significant seating capacity. The auditorium also gives TGS the flexibility to hold both small-scale and large-scale events with ease and efficiency.
In terms of sports, TGS has set up a new futsal court and an indoor badminton court with audience stands. Additionally, TGS has also set up facilities for indoor sports such as gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, badminton, table tennis, chess and carrom. A unique feature of TGS is the rock-climbing wall set up on campus along with qualified trainers to train the students with care and caution.
Rohit Gera, Managing Director, Gera Developments and Chairman Advisory Committee, The Gera School said, “Students must be able to present their skills, knowledge and personalities to the outside world with confidence, and through various activities on our campus, we want to give them the opportunity to do so. Art and sports are an important aspect in children’s development; they build character and teach values. Hence, these extracurricular activities are an integral and compulsory part of the education process at TGS. We want to make sure that our students get the very best of infrastructure and training in these areas; hence, we decided to invest in the auditorium, the various sports facilities, and also training in many of these activities. Through this investment, we hope to nurture creativity, leadership, team spirit and sportsmanship within our students.”
