Teach For India, a non-profit championing educational equity, has announced the next deadline for its 2026 Fellowship. The deadline to apply is March 22, 2026. Through the Fellowship, aspiring leaders will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children while shaping the future of education in India.
In addition to the Fellowship experience, selected Fellows will have the unique opportunity to opt for a two-year postgraduate programme (four semesters), enabling them to earn a master’s degree in transformational learning while continuing their full-time, paid teaching roles in under-resourced schools.
Chosen Fellows commit to serving as full-time teachers in affordable private schools or English-medium government schools. Here, they’ll guide students through the complexities of India’s inequities, directly addressing the root causes of educational disadvantage.
The Master’s Degree in Transformational Leadership is an immersive and rigorous leadership development programme designed to complement the Fellowship experience. It will deep-dive into various aspects that are an integral part of classroom education today, ranging from classroom culture to data-driven instruction and assessments, education leadership, stakeholder engagement, and community projects. It will also include immersive sessions on arts & sports education, policy and the public sector, education technology, and school leadership (among many others).
The degree will be awarded by St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Mumbai, and is fully recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). This enables graduates to pursue higher education, including PhD programmes, qualify for roles requiring a postgraduate degree, and appear for national-level examinations such as the UGC-NET in India and abroad.
The programme fee is ₹15,000 per year, along with a nominal one-time registration fee for non-Mumbai University graduates. Scholarships will be available for candidates requiring financial assistance.
