Swechha, a Waldorf-inspired school nestled within the GITAM (Deemed to be University) campus in Visakhapatnam, marked a significant milestone on Sunday, March 17, 2024, with the debut of their annual event, Angadi. Rooted in the ethos of ‘Swa Ichha’ or free will, Swechha embraces the Waldorf philosophy of education, placing the child’s needs and interests at the heart of its pedagogical approach.
The inaugural Angadi event, organized by Swechha students, parents, and teachers, showcased the vibrant spirit and creativity of the school community. Held at the picturesque Rushikonda campus, Angadi served as a testament to Swechha’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
“Angadi is the first bloom of Swechha’s efforts. Swechha’s approach to ‘Learning through Doing & Imagination’ was reflected in how purpose met creativity at every stall of ANGADI,” remarked Deepti Vadlamudi, Co-Founder and Head of Academics. “Supported by a like-minded community, I am confident Swechha will fulfill its vision of impacting society through holistic education.”
Visitors were treated to many delights as they wandered through the transformed campus, where little hands worked tirelessly to create beauty and festivity. Grade One children of Swechha led the charge, hosting an array of stalls alongside their parents and teachers. The event also featured talented artisans displaying their wares and engaging attendees in various creative projects.
Amidst the harmonious sounds of nature, Angadi offered a sensory feast, enchanting visitors with its creative displays, engaging activities, and delectable food offerings. From handmade woollen items and farm produce to fine art and upcycled treasures, the event showcased the diverse talents and passions within the Swechha community.
With its warm embrace of Waldorf principles and unwavering dedication to nurturing young minds, Swechha has become a beacon of educational excellence in Visakhapatnam. Welcoming parents and children alike since its inception in 2020, Swechha continues to grow, now offering admissions from Nursery to Grade 2.
