Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai, Ranked 6th in 2025 NIRF Rankings, witnessed a splendid celebration of its first-ever MBA Batch – the Batch of 2026 – graduating at the Mumbai campus on April 11. In the presence of Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD &CEO of National Stock Exchange, Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, and Shri Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman & BoG of IIM Mumbai, and Chairman & Founder of Allcargo Group, the MBA batch was honored for their dedication throughout the courses spanning across general batches, operations & logistics and sustainability management.
A total of 505 students graduated from IIM Mumbai’s campus after its formal recognition from NITIE in 2026. In the MBA batches, 300 students from the General MBA course, 177 students from MBA – Operations and Supply Chain Management, and 28 students from MBA – Sustainability Management graduated today. Additionally, 39 students from the first batch of One Year Post Graduate Programme for Executives on Logistics and Operations Excellence through Digitization, 26 students of the One Year Post Graduate Programme for Executives, and 6 students from doctoral degrees graduated.
Shri Shashi Kiran Shetty captured the moment by saying, “On this momentous day, we are proud to present to the nation a cohort of future-ready leaders equipped to contribute to India’s growth and global competitiveness. With a planned investment of over ₹1,000 crore student capacity set to scale to 4,000 by 2028, we are scaling IIM Mumbai into world-class institution that continues to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership to drive national progress.”
Speaking at the milestone event, Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan said, “As India moves towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, as envisioned by honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi, your role as future leaders and nation-builders will be crucial. Go forward with confidence, purpose, and a commitment to make a difference.”
Adding to this, Prof. Manoj Tiwari said, “the graduation of our first MBA batch reflects a significant step in the institute’s evolution. I am proud of their academic journey with us, and confident they will create meaningful impact across sectors while upholding the values that define this institution.”
