‘Josh 2024’, the Annual Sports Day of Delhi Public School (DPS) Indirapuram held at Noida Cricket Stadium, witnessed 4500 students, the largest student gathering in the region. The grand event was a spectacular celebration of sportsmanship, energy, and athletic talent, with students showcasing their skills across various disciplines.

The day commenced with a grand opening ceremony, which showcased a cultural extravaganza replete with dances, cheerleading and a countdown. The highlight of the inaugural was the presence of Sumit Antil, Paralympic Gold Medalist, as the Chief Guest. His inspiring address captivated the audience and energized the young athletes, as he shared his incredible journey of overcoming challenges and achieving international success. His words resonated with the students, instilling a sense of perseverance and determination.

Ashok Kumar, former Director General of Police (DGP), Uttarakhand, who was the keynote speaker delivered a motivational speech, emphasizing the importance of discipline, resilience, and the spirit of fair play in both sports and life. His address inspired the students to strive for excellence, not just in competitions but also in their daily lives.

After speeches, it was time for sports actions as the proceedings of the event saw enthusiastic participation from students across Nursery to Class 12, who competed in a range of activities, including track races, relays, March past, drills, karate, yoga and field events. The energy and sportsmanship displayed by the young athletes was truly commendable, making ‘Josh 2024’ a memorable and successful event.

Commenting on the excitement and buzz around the event, Priya John, Principal of DPS Indirapuram, said the incredible enthusiasm and passion demonstrated by our students at ‘Josh 2024’ are a reflection of their dedication and love for sports. “We are committed to nurturing not just academic excellence but also the physical and mental well-being of our students. Events like this are crucial in building character and life skills.”

After the sporting events, the day concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were felicitated with medals and certificates, amidst loud cheers and applause.
