Amway India on July 2 announced the launch of Phase II of its School Nutrition Education Programme under its flagship nutrition initiative, Power of 5 (Po5), in New Delhi. Building on the strong outcomes of Phase I, Amway India is expanding its commitment to strengthen the programme’s reach, deepen its impact, and further integrate nutrition education into the learning ecosystem. Phase II aims to make nutrition education an integral part of everyday learning by combining engaging classroom modules, digital learning tools, and community-led initiatives that encourage healthy eating habits from an early age.
Implemented in partnership with ChildFund India, the programme will be rolled out across 10 government and government-aided schools in South Delhi during FY 2026–27. It is expected to benefit nearly 15,000 individuals, including approximately 2,500 students from Grades 1 to 8, along with teachers, parents, and the wider school community.
The programme was formally inaugurated at Shaheed Hemu Kalani Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi, in the presence of Guest of Honour Ms. Manisha Taneja (State Nodal Officer, Education & Literacy, Government of NCT of Delhi), Mr. Rajneesh Chopra (Managing Director, Amway India), Mr. Anand Vishwakarma (Executive Director, ChildFund India). The launch was marked by hands-on volunteering activities, including the creation of nutrition-themed kitchen gardens and herb pots, interactive sports sessions, and the serving of nutritious meals to students.
This one-year nutrition intervention is built around four pillars: nutrition education for children, teacher capacity building, technology-enabled learning, and parent/community engagement. Through interactive modules, students build awareness of balanced diets, healthy habits, hygiene, and local nutrition, complemented by a Nutrition Ambassador programme that promotes peer learning. Teachers, as Nutrition Champions, integrate these nutrition concepts into everyday school life through storytelling, games, and role-plays. A digital learning platform and smart health monitoring kiosks further support awareness and behaviour change. And beyond the classroom, the programme actively engages families and communities to reinforce positive nutrition practices at home.
The program measures its impact through rigorous baseline and endline assessments, tracking improvements in nutrition knowledge, dietary behaviours, BMI, and overall health indicators using KAP assessments. The initiative aims for at least 70% of participating students to achieve a minimum 30% improvement in nutrition knowledge and nutritional status, while also strengthening long-term teacher capacity and increasing nutrition awareness among families and surrounding communities.
“By reaching over 40,000 individuals, including 10,000 children directly, we witnessed meaningful behavioural change—from children making healthier food choices and adopting better hygiene practices to embracing more nutritious lifestyles. Building on this momentum, the next phase strengthens our commitment by embedding nutrition literacy and technology-enabled learning into school ecosystems, while extending its impact beyond classrooms to families and communities. Ultimately, this initiative is not just about what children eat; it is about equipping them to become informed advocates for healthier living, inspiring positive change within their homes and communities, and contributing to a healthier future for the nation,” said Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director, Amway India.
Praveen Khandelwal, Lok Sabha MP from Chandni Chowk Delhi lauded the initiative. “The future of India is being shaped in our classrooms today, and ensuring every child has access to nutritious food is a shared responsibility. In line with this, eradicating malnutrition and building a healthier nation has been the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s priorities. Through initiatives such as Poshan Abhiyan, significant efforts have been made to ensure children receive the nutrition they need for their overall development,” he said.
