SGT University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Navjyoti India Foundation and India Vision Foundation, founded by Dr. Kiran Bedi to launch of the Kiran Bedi Leadership Learning (KBLL) Program. The collaboration aims to nurture ethical, purpose-driven leaders through experiential learning and real-world engagement.
The MoU establishes a long-term partnership focused on leadership training, community engagement, and value-based education, enabling students to gain hands-on exposure to societal challenges and develop impactful solutions. The Kiran Bedi Leadership Learning Program, introduced under this collaboration, is a one-month experiential learning initiative designed to go beyond classroom learning. It focuses on ethical decision-making, problem-solving, and service-oriented leadership, providing students with mentorship, practical exposure, and opportunities to engage with real-world challenges.
Marking the launch occasion, SGT University hosted a workshop titled “Structured Mind, Ethical Actions & Effective Leaders“, bringing together students, faculty, and thought leaders on a common platform. The presence of Dr. Kiran Bedi made it special as an enduring role model for students and professionals alike, her journey in public service served as a powerful source of inspiration.
Addressing the audience, she emphasized the essence of purposeful leadership, stating, “Leadership is about the choices you make. Even when choices are limited, you can always choose to add purpose to your work. Don’t wait for perfect conditions; start with what you have, step out of your comfort zone, and focus on creating solutions. That is how real change begins.”
Encouraging students to take initiative, she further added, “Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you; go where you can learn, improve, and create change. Real leaders don’t maintain the status quo; they transform it.”
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Hemant Verma, Vice-Chancellor, SGT University, highlighted the importance of value-based leadership, stating, “Leadership is not defined by position but by action; it is about standing up for what is right, creating change rather than waiting for it, and serving with integrity, empathy, and purpose.”
This strategic collaboration reflects SGT University’s continued commitment to nurturing future-ready leaders equipped with integrity, innovation, and a strong sense of responsibility.
