The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) will mark the 10th World Investor Week (WIW) 2026 with a week-long investor education programme focused on promoting financial awareness, informed and responsible investing, and cyber safety among young investors and the wider investing community.
The programme, being held from 5 to 10 October 2026, will bring together a series of on-campus activities, expert-led sessions and online investor education webinars. As part of the week, NISM will also launch two new certification courses on cybersecurity and cyber resilience in collaboration with the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
NISM will also host free Investor Education Visit Programmes for 6 days at its Patalganga Campus in Mumbai for nearly 2400 students from colleges across the region. The programme is designed to provide students with an engaging and interactive introduction to the securities markets, investing principles and the importance of making informed financial decisions.
The programme will feature an industry expert session and a session led by NISM academic faculty members on investing and securities markets, career opportunities, and NISM lab facilities, along with an entertainment act/DUET ACT performance by Young Creative Production Team focused on cybersecurity. Students will also participate in a “Crack the Case Study” competition, followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
Adding an interactive element to the learning experience, the programme will include activities such as a Jigsaw Puzzle, Jenga – Myths & Facts, aimed at addressing common misconceptions around investing, and a Selfie Point with themed props and a celebrity backdrop. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will also be provided to participating students.
To extend the reach of its investor education initiatives, NISM will conduct Online Investor Education Webinars on 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 October 2026. The webinars will be open to investors, students and learners seeking to strengthen their understanding of financial markets and investing.
As part of the WIW 2026 programme, NISM will launch two new cybersecurity certification courses in collaboration with IFSCA on 6th October 2026:
- NISM-IFSCA-02A: Certification Course on Cyber Security and Cyber Resilience in the GIFT IFSC (Basic)
- NISM-IFSCA-02B: Certification Course on Cyber Security and Cyber Resilience in the GIFT IFSC (Advanced)
The introduction of these courses underlines NISM’s focus on strengthening cybersecurity capabilities and building greater resilience across the financial ecosystem. With increasing digitization of financial services and the evolving nature of cyber threats, the courses are intended to support greater awareness and preparedness among professionals and stakeholders across the ecosystem
