Principals and Counsellors/Wellness Coordinators from CBSE-affiliated schools across Gujarat and Rajasthan gathered at Ahmedabad’s Delhi Public School-Bopal, for the CBSE Parenting Workshop designed as a collaborative platform to facilitate engaging discussions on effective parenting strategies, strengthening parental involvement, and advancing the holistic development and well-being of students.

The workshop featured Minakshi Kushwaha, Principal of Birla Vidya Niketan, New Delhi, and Manju Balasubramanyam, Principal of DPS Bangalore North, Bengaluru as resource persons.

Sabina Sawhney, Principal of DPS-Bopal in her warm welcome emphasized the vital role of strong parent–school collaboration in fostering the integrated and holistic development of students. Additionally, she highlighted digital de-addiction as a key focus area for the year, underlining its importance in today’s educational landscape.

The first session thereafter was conducted by Ms. Minakshi Kushwaha, who introduced the Parenting Calendar 2025–26, a pioneering CBSE initiative launched earlier this year. She elaborated on its vision to nurture emotional intelligence, value orientation, and life skills while fortifying parental involvement. This was followed by Ms. Manju Balasubramanyam, who presented survey findings on parental perspectives, offering empirical insights into the challenges and aspirations of the families for seeking guidance and building strong parental connections.

During the session, Ms. Kushwaha highlighted strategies for strengthening parent–school collaboration and enhancing parental engagement, while Ms. Balasubramanyam focused on integrated classroom activities and mentioned how schools can play an instrumental role in building a strong parent-child bond by engaging them in various activities conducted at school. Each discourse was enriched with reflective anecdotes, innovative practices, and pragmatic solutions by addressing contemporary concerns such as digital well-being, socio-emotional learning, and resilience-building.

The day’s proceedings concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Education is a shared responsibility, where home and school collaborate to nurture conscientious, compassionate, future-ready citizens, and every child discovers both their roots and their wings.
