Delhi Public School-Bopal came alive with boundless energy and enthusiasm as it hosted the XII Biennial Sports Extravaganza on 21 December 2024 for senior wing. The vibrant theme “LAKSHYA – Aim, Aspire, Achieve” was a spectacular fusion of cultural brilliance, athletic excellence and unwavering sportsmanship.
The grand event commenced with Cultural Harmony to celebrate unity, perseverance, dedication, endurance and team spirit. The special guest, Sunpreet Singh Bagga, Ranji trophy cricketer who has served as Gujarat’s U-19 captain, honoured the event with his presence. School Director Vandna Joshi, Principal Sabina Sawhney and the section heads graced the occasion with their presence.
The rhythmic beats of the School Choir set the tone high to bring this energetic day to life as ann energetic opening dance captivated the audience, symbolizing the spirit of unity and celebration. The Special Guest further elevated the atmosphere with an invigorating speech, reminding everyone that sports is not just about transcending competition but also celebrating growth and resilience.
The event reached its patriotic zenith with Flag Hoisting and the synchronized March Past by the students, displaying discipline and unity. The Oath ceremony by the sports captain and the Torch Lighting ceremony by the school sports achievers of State, National and International tournaments, reinforced the values of sportsmanship and fair play. All the 6 houses came together to present visually stunning tableaus.
A proud highlight of the day was the Scholarship Awards Ceremony, recognizing and honoring the academic achievements of the students. With more than 1100 students competing and participating, the field came alive with cheers and applause as skating, relay races, track races and throwing events like shot put and discus throw illuminated the ground. With the special guest’s formal declaration, the XII Biennial Sports Extravaganza was officially inaugurated. The prestigious overall Trophy was proudly claimed by Mahi House. The day culminated with the celebration of champions and their remarkable achievements.
