Kommune and Netflix India have recently launched the 4th edition of their Voices of Tomorrow (VOT) initiative, part of the Voice Equity Project. This year’s focus returns exclusively to senior adults (45+).

The 5-month initiative, set to run from August 2025 to December 2025, will be in collaboration with several Mumbai-based artist organisations and talent agencies. Auditioning a pool of around 250 individuals from Mumbai, the program will narrow down to 25 of untapped voices for an intensive 8-week dubbing training. After this, the final cohort will also gain hands-on experience in professional dubbing environments and refine their essential soft skills via a dedicated industry training week. Mentored by industry stalwarts like Shernaz Patel, Alekh Sangal, and Simran Singh, and supported by multiple dubbing studios, this unique program will prepare participants for real-world opportunities to launch their careers in voice acting.

Who Can Apply

VOT is created to nurture voice talent by empowering eligible individuals with the skills required to thrive in dubbing across both the big screen and small screen.

  • Individuals who are 45 years old and older
  • Applicants must be Indian citizens and residing in Mumbai, as training will be conducted in the city itself
  • As an additional requirement, the applicants must be fluent in English

Alekh Sangal, Dubbing Coach, Voices of Tomorrow, said, “We’re at a moment where the industry is hungry for stories that sound authentic, rooted and resonate. This initiative gives us the chance to work with voices that have age, emotion, and experience – often overlooked in favour of trends. What excites me about VOT is watching participants go from holding back to completely owning the mic, trusting their rhythm, their pauses, their quirks. As a coach, it’s a privilege to be part of a creative space where every voice feels safe, celebrated, and free to explore this wonderful craft.”
