A graduation ceremony celebrating the successful completion of medical education by 1,006 students, including more than 700 Indian students, was held at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines on August 28. Besides the large contingent of Indian students, graduates from Nepal, Nigeria, Sri Lanka and other nationalities participated in the ceremony, highlighting the international character of the Gullas College of Medicine.

Gov. Edwin Jubahib, Governor of Davao del Norte, graced the occasion as the distinguished guest and congratulated the graduating students on their achievement. He conveyed his best wishes to the young doctors as they begin their professional careers in medicine. The ceremony brought together distinguished dignitaries, academic leaders, medical professionals, graduating students and their families to celebrate the significant academic milestone.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. David K. Pillai, Chairman of Kings International Medical Academy, urged them to consider medicine not merely as a profession but as a responsibility towards society. He encouraged the young doctors to uphold professional excellence, pursue lifelong learning and provide compassionate care to patients. The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Kathreena K. Pillai, Deputy Chief Executive Consultant of Gullas College of Medicine, and Dr. Karthik Raj Manoharan, distinguished Indian medical professional and Program Director, Liver Transplant Anesthesia & Critical Care at M.I.O.T. International Hospitals, Chennai. They extended their greetings and best wishes to the graduating students. The graduation of more than 700 Indian students in a single batch marked a significant milestone and one of the notable gatherings of Indian medical graduates in the Philippines.
