National Education Day is observed every year in India on 11 November since 2008 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of independent India. Celebrated across schools and colleges, the day highlights the importance of education as the foundation of a strong and progressive nation.

Maulana Azad was a great scholar, freedom fighter, and visionary leader who firmly believed that education is the key to social transformation. As Education Minister from 1947 to 1958, he laid the groundwork for India’s modern education system by promoting universal primary education, higher learning, and technical training. He also played a vital role in establishing institutions such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), IITs, and AICTE, which continue to shape Indian education today.

National Education Day reminds us that learning is not limited to classrooms or textbooks — it is a lifelong process that empowers individuals and uplifts society. Every year, educational institutions organize seminars, essay competitions, rallies, and exhibitions to spread awareness about the importance of education for all.

The theme for 2025 emphasizes “Inclusive Quality Education”, reflecting the nation’s commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to meaningful learning opportunities. On this day, we are encouraged to reflect on how we can contribute to building a knowledge-driven, equitable, and enlightened India.

In essence, National Education Day is not just a celebration of Maulana Azad’s legacy but a call to action — to uphold the values of knowledge, equality, and continuous learning for a brighter future.

Celebrate not just the day, but the spirit of education: curiosity, empathy, and growth.

Quotes:

“Schools are entering a new era of technology powered by AI, data analytics, and immersive learning tools. In honour of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s vision, we celebrate National Education Day by reflecting on how technology is transforming education and employment in India.

The UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report 2024 notes that nearly 47% of universities worldwide now use AI to assist in teaching and assessment, while over 70% of Indian teachers use digital platforms to engage learners. According to NASSCOM, India’s EdTech market is projected to exceed $10 billion by 2026, growing at nearly 28% annually. The World Economic Forum reports that AI-powered adaptive systems make learning more personal than ever — improving knowledge retention by up to 30%.

Science and engineering are coming alive through virtual and augmented reality, with the global AR/VR education sector expected to cross $20 billion by 2030. This evolution means teachers are no longer just educators — they are digital advisors.

Yet, as we move forward, we must remain mindful of data privacy, responsible AI use, and the digital divide that still affects nearly one in four rural children. The future of education will be shaped by institutions that combine human sensitivity with technological skill, making learning more equitable, effective, and inclusive for all.” —Naresh Jadeja, Executive Registrar, Marwadi University

“As we celebrate National Education Day 2025, I am filled with pride and inspiration, witnessing how education continues to empower our students, broaden their horizons, and transform learning into a journey of limitless possibilities.

Technology has opened doors that once seemed unreachable — from AI-driven tools and virtual labs to digital mentors — all helping students learn faster, deeper, and smarter.

Today’s learners are no longer confined by classrooms; they explore, innovate, and connect with the world in ways we could never have imagined. That is the true spirit of modern education — limitless, inclusive, and transformative.”— Dr. Alka Kapur, Principal, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh

“AI is reshaping the contours of learning, leadership, and execution across industries. As organizations accelerate toward digital transformation, education becomes a strategic enabler — developing talent that can apply informed judgment, navigate ambiguity, and drive purposeful outcomes.

As automation scales, the value of cognitive leadership intensifies — built through ethical judgment, strategic foresight, and the ability to think critically amid uncertainty. Industry studies consistently highlight that success in AI-driven environments depends not only on technical mastery but on the integration of power skills — communication, collaboration, and contextual decision-making.

Project-based work is fast becoming the dominant mode of value creation, demanding professionals who can align diverse stakeholders, manage complexity, and deliver results with clarity. Education must evolve to nurture these capabilities — embedding resilience, curiosity, and structured thinking into its core.

The most impactful leaders are those who understand systems, question assumptions, and guide innovation with purpose. In this landscape, technology becomes a tool — not a substitute — for human insight. The role of educators, institutions, and enterprises is to ensure that learners are equipped not just to operate within automated systems, but to shape them through the lens of project management.” —Amit Goyal, Managing Director, Project Management Institute

“On this National Education Day, under the theme ‘Inclusive, Quality Education’, we reaffirm that learning must remain personal, meaningful, and empowered by opportunity.

At Tally Education, we focus on turning lessons into real-world opportunities. Our mission is to build confidence, teach practical business skills, and guide young learners toward careers where they can grow and make a difference.

By partnering with educational institutions, government skilling initiatives, corporate CSR programs, and training centers across rural and urban India, we bring hands-on learning in areas that industry values most — managing accounts, understanding finance, and operating everyday business functions.

As AI and digital tools become integral to every workplace, we ensure our learners not only use technology, but use it thoughtfully, purposefully, and as a bridge to lasting careers.

Education is the key that connects potential with impact. On this day, we pledge to keep that key meaningful for every learner.” —Bhuwaneshwari B, CEO, Tally Education
