The National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 16 declared the results of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main—2026 session 1 (January 2026). A total of 13,04,653 candidates, which is 92.26% of the 13,55,293 students who had registered for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), appeared for the examination. The exam was conducted on January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 across 326 centres in 68 cities, including 15 centres outside India.

The next phase, JEE Main 2026 Session 2, is scheduled to be held in early April 2026, from April 2 to April 9. After the declaration of Session 2 results, as per the eligibility rules of the National Testing Agency and IITs, the top 2,50,000 (2.5 lakh) candidates across all categories will qualify to appear for JEE Advanced 2026.

The NTA, which had faced criticism in previous years over issues such as impersonation and paper leaks, introduced several new security measures this time. For the first time, OTP-based e-KYC was used as the primary method for candidate authentication during registration. During the examination, biometric attendance, AI-based video analytics at centres, and surprise inspections were implemented to strengthen security. According to the NTA, the results of 68 candidates have been withheld due to unfair practices or discrepancies in identity verification.

Celebrations

The results provided a much-needed moment of celebration for students and their families amid the ongoing board examinations. ALLEN Career Institute, Delhi, a leading coaching network in North India, organised a felicitation event on February 17 to honour toppers from its Delhi network.

Vice President Pankaj Agarwal informed that Anay Jain of ALLEN Delhi has scored 100 percentile and is also the Haryana State Topper. More than 32 students of ALLEN have scored above 99.9 percentile. Among them, Rishit Garg, Sushant Agarwal, and Divyansh have scored above 99.99 percentile. Additionally, Nishkarsh Singh, Sahaj Gupta, Daksh Sikka, and Aneesh Anand have scored above 99.98 percentile. As per the results seen so far, hundreds of students have scored above 99 percentile.

Agarwal further informed that across the country, 12 students have been declared overall 100 percentilers, out of which 8 students are from ALLEN. Among them, 7 are from classroom courses and 1 from a digital learning course. Kabir Chhillar, a resident of Gurugram and a classroom student of ALLEN Kota, has secured a perfect score of 300 out of 300 along with 100 percentile. Along with him, from the classroom course, Arnav Gautam, Shubham Kumar, Bhavesh Patra, Anay Jain, Nimey Purohit, and Chiranjib Kar have scored 100 percentile. Meanwhile, Shreyas Mishra from Delhi, who has secured 100 percentile, is a student of ALLEN’s digital course as per the statement of the coaching institute.

In the January session, Anay Jain scored 291 out of 300, achieving a 100 percentile. Anay is currently a 12th-grade student and has been a classroom student at Allen for the past year. Anay explained, ” I did self-study for over 12 hours daily and, while preparing for JEE Main, I specifically practiced previous year question papers and focused on NCERT books for Chemistry and Physics. I selected ALLEN study material that was useful for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced, which helped me achieve high scores. He attributed his success to the guidance of his teachers, regular tests, self-study, and the support of his parents.
