This year Mumbai’s Pratham InfoTech Foundation wa awarded with mBillionth Award in Learning and Education category at the virtual conference where the winners of the 11th Edition of the mBillionth Award 2020-21 announced.
The mBillionth Award, since 2010, is the leading platform to recognize and honour excellence in mobile innovations, applications and content services for public good, in South Asia, organized by the Digital Empowerment Foundation and the World Summit Award. The 11th edition of the Award event announcement is being made on May 17, 2021.
The winning innovations are being recognised for – social and mobile innovation, ease of navigation, meaningful content and services, inclusiveness, reach and impact and sustainability. Altogether there are 12 winning innovations for the 11th edition and the list includes – Digital Sakshar

Digital Sakshar Free Learning App is for children enrolled in Govt. and low-income private schools, mostly from a weak socioeconomic background providing a multimedia-rich experience that is enhanced and more informative in comparison to school textbooks including the reference material. To ease the process of learning, it allows the learner to choose the pace, communicate complex information with the option of on-demand video, access the digital content published in Marathi, Hindi and English, conduct regular assessments, and all at no cost.
Today, Pratham InfoTech Foundation’s content has reached 24 states and 2 union territories while approaching 5 lakh+ students with its direct program, and 95 lakh+ students in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra and Bihar through television and radio.
