Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has partnered with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), together known as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, to expand access to globally benchmarked finance education for learners in India.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged by Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, and Ajay Lalwani, Country Head, AICPA & CIMA, in the presence of Tasneem Kapasi, Lead Manager, AICPA & CIMA, and Mohasin Tahasildar, Director, Awarding Body, MSU.
MSU has recently launched a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Public Accounting Skills (PGDFA), developed in collaboration with ICPA, India. Integrated with CIMA’s CGMA Finance Leadership Program, the programme offers exemptions from 14 of the 16 CIMA examinations.
The programme combines core finance and accounting with technology-driven and industry-oriented skills. Its curriculum covers areas including financial reporting, GST, income tax, Tally, SAP, Power BI and Python, preparing learners to work across the finance ecosystem—from MSMEs and Indian enterprises to multinational corporations.
The programme is also designed to equip finance professionals to operate in an increasingly globalised workplace, where employers are seeking professionals who can combine accounting expertise with technology, data interpretation and business decision-making capabilities.
Ajay Lalwani, Country Head, AICPA & CIMA, said, “India needs finance talent that can operate confidently across markets and contribute to business beyond traditional accounting roles. Our collaboration with Medhavi Skills University combines global professional standards with industry-relevant skills to prepare professionals for the evolving demands of business.”
Speaking on the partnership, Mohasin Tahasildar, Director, Awarding Body, MSU, said, “The finance professional of the future will need to go beyond accounting and compliance to understand technology, interpret data and contribute to business decisions. This programme brings these capabilities coupled with a strong foundation in Indian finance, preparing learners for careers in India as well as the global economy.”
