Macquarie University, Sydney, one of Australia’s top 10 universities, and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad campus, one of India’s premier institutions, have jointly announced admissions to their pioneering dual-degree program – Master of Arts (MA) in Public Policy and International Relations. This program aims to equip aspiring policymakers with interdisciplinary skills to tackle dynamic and complex global challenges, supported by a scholarship covering 75% of tuition fees in the second year.
This two-year program will combine rigorous academic training with practical exposure.
Year 1: MA in Public Policy and Governance at TISS Hyderabad: Students will explore policy intricacies through theoretical insights and practical applications, including two built-in internships with external institutions. The first year will build expertise in analysing frameworks, assessing impacts, and devising solutions to pressing societal challenges.
Year 2: Master’s in International Relations at Macquarie University, Sydney: Supported by a scholarship covering 75% of the tuition fees, students shall gain insights into global processes, regional dynamics, and international organisations, preparing them to engage confidently with evolving world affairs.
Dual degree to be awarded upon completion:
- Master of Arts in Public Policy and Governance – Tata Institute of Social Sciences
- Master’s in International Relations – Macquarie University
Jointly developed by academic experts from both institutions, the curriculum offers a comprehensive understanding of governance, institutional mechanisms, and global geopolitics. It is tailored to prepare graduates for impactful careers in public policy, diplomacy, research, multilateral organisations, and the development sector.
Graduates of the dual degree program will benefit from the collective placement support provided by both TISS and Macquarie University, enhancing career opportunities in India and internationally.
Admissions for the 2026 cohort are now open until 13 May 2026. The program welcomes applicants from all academic backgrounds. Selection will be based on a Statement of Purpose (SOP), followed by an online personal interview for shortlisted candidates.
