Students from class VI  to XII can register at https://worldskillsindia.co.in/JuniorSkills2021. Top 21 students will get an opportunity to travel to WorldSkills International Competition

JuniorSkills Championship 2021 extends registration date till June 30th, 2021, providing an opportunity to students to take part in the first ever national-level skill competition.  Being organized by NSDC in collaboration with CBSE, JuniorSkills is an endeavour to create a platform for career guidance and acquiring modern and future skills by school children.  In its first edition, the championship offers competition in 10 skills (vocational courses) and is open to students from class 6th to 12th.  It will provide students with the opportunity to learn about different job professions. The winners will get prizes including cash rewards, certificates, tech-aid tools and the top 21 students will get an opportunity to travel to WorldSkills International. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the championship at https://worldskillsindia.co.in/JuniorSkills2021 .

As daily lives of school students continue to get disrupted in the ongoing pandemic, the extension of the registration deadline comes as a blessing for the students. The championship entitles all CBSE-affiliated schools across India to participate and register their students.  The students can register as an individual or the schools can upload bulk entries.

The championship will be conducted at four levels — Screening, Qualifying, Semi-Final and Final. Due to the COVID situation, the first three levels of the championship will be organised online while the finale is proposed to be conducted on-ground in Delhi. Competition levels are further classified into three groups:

Group                               Class

Group 1                           6th to 8th

Group 2                           9th to 10th

Group 3                           11th to 12th

By integrating technical and vocational education at the school-level, the JuniorSkills Championship 2021 will help students make informed career choices. They can match their personal skills with a choice of future careers.  The championship will provide an opportunity to the young participants to exhibit their talent in emerging vocations such as Web Technologies, IT software solution, Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, Fashion Technology, Mobile Robotics, Painting and Decorating, Solar Energy, Innovative Business Ideas and Photography. Creating a pipeline of candidates for the forthcoming WorldSkills Competitions, the initiative is aimed at connecting education with industry-related skills. Additionally, the contest will build a renewed focus on skilling along with inculcating competitiveness and social participation among students. For the next round, orientation webinars and training will be provided to shortlisted candidates and the results will be announced for the qualifying students for the further rounds, leading to the finale in Delhi.
