IIT Madras Alumni Association to Host Sangam 2026 in Bengaluru

The IIT Madras Alumni Association (IITMAA) will host the seventh edition of its flagship annual conference, Sangam 2026, on September 26 at Taj MG Road, Bengaluru, centred on the theme “Atmanirbhar Bharat – Building a Self-Reliant India.” The conference will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, technology experts, entrepreneurs, academics and alumni to discuss India’s self-reliance across strategic sectors, including artificial intelligence, space technology, defence, digital payments, semiconductors and infrastructure.

The event will feature keynote addresses, sector-focused panel discussions and fireside conversations, with speakers including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Education Minister Pralhad Joshi, Chief of Defence Staff General N. S. Raja Subramani and IIT Madras Director Prof. V. Kamakoti. The conference will also expand IITMAA’s alumni mentorship initiative, building on its Career and Life Coaching (CLIC) programme, with the long-term objective of pairing every IIT Madras student with an alumni mentor for academic, professional and personal guidance. The event will conclude with felicitations, a performance by Guitar Prasanna.
