Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) in collaboration with Codingal is live with HPE CodeWars 2022 India Edition; an annual coding competition for Grade 9-12 students. Registration & participation in HPE CodeWars 2022 is free of cost. For CodeBattle, students are required to solve 25 coding-related problems in 3 hours using any of the programming languages among C, C++, Java, and Python.

For Hackathon, students can participate individually or as a team consisting of a maximum of 3 members.

Participants will have a chance to win prizes worth ₹3,00,000 from HPE, recognition certificates from HPE and STEM.org, along with mentorship from HPE technologists.  The winners will also have an opportunity to interact with HPE Spaceborne Computer-2 (SBC-2), an edge computer currently in space.

This is the second online edition of one-of-its-kind virtual coding competition which culminates on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Over 10,000 students from more than 500 schools across the country are expected to participate, making it India’s largest hackathon and coding competition. More details are available at  https://www.codingal.com/hpe-codewars-2022/

HPE CodeWars 2022 aims to inspire, motivate and engage students to learn to code and find innovative solutions to real-life issues.

Vivek Prakash, Co-founder, and CEO of Codingal said, “We are delighted to partner with HPE for the second time in a row to organize the CodeWars India Edition, with a common goal of introducing students to Coding and making them realize the opportunities that lie ahead of them. Tomorrow’s world will be increasingly driven through advancements in technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and Blockchain etc, and some of the best future career opportunities will be around developing and using these technologies to solve problems. We therefore believe that a basic understanding of computer sciences is a must for each school going student.”

Cynthia Srinivas, VP-Engineering, Compute Business Group; India site R&D leader HPE said, “CodeWars is our effort to encourage and motivate students to learn computer science by introducing them to real-life applications. This event is also aligned with HPE’s commitment to technology being an enabler and a force for good, and we are thrilled that the top six winners will get this once in a lifetime opportunity to run their experiments on HPE’s Spaceborne Computer-2. We are excited to give Indian high school students an opportunity to showcase their coding skills.”

HPE CodeWars is a computer programming competition with the intent to evangelize coding amongst High School Students. Started in 1998, CodeWars has since expanded to multiple countries including USA, Spain, Taiwan, and India.
