Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), Govt. of N.C.T of Delhi, and Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited (Akums), have embarked on a collaborative journey to research on specific therapy-gaps and introduce novel products for Indian patients. This Industry-Academia partnership will also enhance pharmaceutical education and research opportunities for DPSRU students.
This collaboration was formalized through signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Dr Harvinder Popli (Registrar & Dean – DPSRU) and Ms. Arushi Jain ([Director – Akums) in the presence of Sanjeev Jain, Joint Director of Akums, and the distinguished leadership team from DPSRU led by (Dr.) R.K. Goyal, Vice-Chancellor, and Registrar; Dr. Jasleena Majeed, Head of Department; Dr. Sushma Talegaonkar, Associate Professor; and Ruchi Singh, Program Lead.
Arushi Jain, commenting on the partnership aid, ” The efforts are in the direction of making the next generation of pharmacy students ready to contribute to the growth of our country. R&D projects assigned to students will harbor live research experience and help them attain a detailed understanding of the ongoing trends of the pharmaceutical industry.” Both partners will leverage their strength and capabilities to introduce a series of innovative pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and dermo-cosmetic products”.
