Delhi Public School- Bopal, Ahmedabad celebrated the XII Biennial Sports Extravaganza for Grades 1 to 5 with unparalleled enthusiasm and energy on 19 December 2024. Themed “Lakshya: Aim, Aspire, Achieve,” the event captured the essence of ambition, perseverance, and teamwork, creating unforgettable moments for students, parents, and teachers alike.
Honoring the occasion were Special Guests, Dr. Raghavan Rangarajan, Professor of Physics and Dean at the School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University, and Mr. Rushiraj Barot, an accomplished professional shooter with 17 years of expertise. They were joined by Director DPS- Bopal Ms. Vandna Joshi, Principal Ms. Sabina Sawhney, and other dignitaries, who added to the grandeur of the event.
The day began with an electrifying Zumba session, energizing everyone for the action-packed events ahead. The ceremonial lighting of the torch by the Chief Guest and the Torch Relay by the school’s sports achievers set the tone for a day celebrating unity and excellence. A total of 970 students participated in the event showcasing their talent and determination in events like the Flat Race, Ring Cone Relay, Ball Cone Balance Race, and Skating Race, displaying their dedication, coordination, and sportsmanship. The vibrant cultural performances added flair, while the Parents’ Race brought laughter and excitement, making the day even more memorable.
Principal Ms. Sabina Sawhney addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of sports for students, emphasizing teamwork and the importance of celebrating success. She also shared students’ achievements and acknowledged the contributions of all the departments.
Mr. Raghavan praised the school for fostering a sense of community and stressed that efforts hold greater value than results. He also expressed special appreciation for the teachers, volunteers, and staff members.
Mr. Barot commended the school for its pursuit of perfection in every aspect and encouraged the participants to enjoy the sports they participate in, irrespective of the outcome.
