A month-long summer coding program ‘De-coding Coding’ completely free of cost for the students of 3 government schools in Raipur by Codeyoung, an online learning platform for children, concluded on a high note on June 22. Jayant Nahata, IAS, Assistant Collector, Raipur, (C.G) attended the valedictory function and felicitated the top 5 students from each school for their exceptional performance in the program.
The course began in May and was free for all the students who underwent 12 offline classes, spanning nearly 20 hours overall. The sessions took place in the schools’ computer labs, which saw 50+ students attending three classes every week in each school. The students received hands-on training in website development and were taught programming languages such as HTML and CSS. Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, IAS Collector and District Magistrate of Raipur (C.G.) for the students of 3 schools (Utkrisht Vidhalayas) in Raipur had inaugurated the summer camp.
The program’s success has encouraged Codeyoung to extend the initiative to more nationwide schools for the subsequent academic year.
Shailendra Dhakad, CEO, Codeyoung, said, “We are delighted to have partnered with the District Administration of Raipur and express our gratitude to them for making this initiative possible. As a company, we wish to continue our efforts towards empowering more and more students with the skills of tomorrow, like coding. As children, it is essential to find the motivation to keep learning new things, and as educators, we must enable them to do so with the right resources. Through this camp, we feel proud to have at least empowered a set of kids and interested them in learning the monetizable skills of tomorrow.”
