CBSE Board Results 2025 Declared: Class 10 Passes with 93.66%, Class 12 with 88.39%; Girls and Southern Regions Lead

On May 13, 2025, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. This year, over 42 lakh students participated in the exams, which were conducted between February 15 and April 4, 2025.

Key Highlights

  • Class 10 Results: Out of 23,85,079 registered students, 23,71,939 appeared for the exams, and 22,21,636 passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 93.66%, a slight increase from last year’s 93.60% .
  • Class 12 Results: Of the 17,04,367 students who registered, 16,92,794 appeared, and 14,96,307 passed, achieving a pass percentage of 88.39%, up from 87.98% in 2024 .

Regional and Demographic Performance

  • Top Performing Regions: Trivandrum and Vijayawada led with a pass percentage of 99.79% each, followed by Bengaluru (98.90%) and Chennai (98.71%) .
  • Delhi Region: The overall pass percentage in the Delhi region was 95.14%, with Delhi West at 95.24% and Delhi East at 95.07% .
  • Gender-wise Performance: Girls outperformed boys in both classes. In Class 10, girls achieved a pass percentage of 95%, boys 92.63%, and transgender students 95%
  • .Institution-wise Performance:
    • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV): 99.49%
    • Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV): 99.45%
    • Independent schools: 94.17%
    • Government schools: 89.26%
    • Government-aided schools: 83.94% .

Notable Statistics

  • High Achievers: Approximately 1,99,944 students scored above 90%, and 45,516 students scored above 95% in Class 10 .
  • Compartment Exams: A total of 1,41,353 Class 10 students were placed in the Compartment category, indicating areas needing academic intervention .

  • Mobile Applications:
    • DigiLocker
    • UMANG
  • SMS Services: Students can also receive their results via SMS by sending their roll number to the designated CBSE number.

Official Remarks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the successful students and offered words of encouragement to those who did not meet their expectations, emphasizing that exam results do not define one’s future.

For students seeking re-evaluation or planning to appear for compartment exams, the CBSE will release detailed guidelines and schedules on its official website.
