BrightCHAMPS , an online, offline, and hybrid platform offering STEM-accredited and next-gen life skills learning to students from 6 to 16 in entrepreneurship, AI, coding, financial literacy, robotics, and communication skills, has added Vedic maths to its offer.
Available across four grade levels for students from 6-16 years of age, the Vedic Maths program covers 16 sutras (formulae) and 13 sub-sutras (corollaries) and aims to equip students with the mental maths skills to perform complex calculations 8-10 times faster than the traditional mathematical methods learned in school. The program consists of 10 modules spread over 60 sessions, with assignments and assessments for deep retention at the end of every class and module.
BrightCHAMPS has announced that it will give away 1,000 free courses on the occasion of Father’s Day (June 16)!
Announcing the launch of the company’s 7th program, Ravi Bhushan, Founder & CEO of BrightCHAMPS said, “As educators, it has always bothered us that so many children around the world are terrified of Maths and lose out on so many career and financial opportunities because all their energy is spent on avoiding Math in every form. It doesn’t have to be that way. Our aim is that by using all the sutras in our Vedic Math course, students will be able to see Math as a building block of life and use it to their advantage to solve complex Maths problems mentally, without using support instruments. Scoring higher marks in school exams is just a side benefit – what we’re more excited by is the idea that our students will be able to live up to their potential and make choices for their future based on what they want to do, not what they want to avoid, once Math is demystified for them.”
Research currently suggests that about 80% students and 35% adults are scared of Maths. So much so, that 20% say it even makes them physically sick. Math anxiety is one of the biggest reasons grown-ups shy away from taking charge of their finances, which can halve their money’s potential, over their lifetime. And it is the leading reason for young kids, especially girls, to not consider studying or taking up careers in STEM.
For some years now, teaching kids Math using the practical approach and formulae used within the Vedic Maths discipline has been gaining popularity globally, among educators as well as parents.
States like Gujarat, Assam, Haryana, MP, UP, and others either already have Vedic Maths in their syllabus or are preparing to introduce it. It might even formally become a part of middle school syllabus under the NEP in upcoming academic years.
