Young India Fellowship (YIF) is a year-long Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Studies that trains 100 exceptional individuals from India and abroad, through a multidisciplinary and multidimensional curriculum, to become impactful leaders and catalysts for change in the 21st century.
The academic year is divided into eight terms of roughly six weeks each. The fellows study about 20 courses across distinct areas of study, although many are interdisciplinary courses. Other programme components include the Critical Writing Programme, Experiential Learning Module, The YIF Crossover Series, and Alumni-In-Residence, allowing students the flexibility to craft their own Fellowship experience and align it with their aspirations.
Candidates of all age groups who have a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline by July 2024 or earlier (can be a final-year student at the time of application) are eligible to apply. Round 1 deadline is 27 November 2023.
The applicants can avail Ashoka University’s Need-based Financial Aid programme, which offers fee waivers of up to 100% of the entire fee, including residence and meals. This ensures that high quality education is accessible for individuals from all walks of life. In addition to the Need-based Financial Aid programme, around 10 exceptional candidates who have demonstrated excellence in multiple areas of engagement and displayed strong leadership qualities will be awarded the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarships, which would cover the entire tuition and residence fee.
All interested individuals are required to complete an online application (free-of-cost). Applications are holistically evaluated and shortlisted for an online personal interview. The first round of applications will remain open till November 27, 2023.
