After having run the UK Schools Awards for over 15 years, Tes is extending Tes Awards to International Schools globally.   These awards aim to celebrate the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the globe.

The most outstanding schools and teachers have been shortlisted as finalists for the first ever Tes Awards for International Schools. The shortlisted schools and teachers are spread across 36 countries across the world. The awards showcase the best of the global education community and highlight their amazing achievements.

The shortlisted finalists of the awards have been selected by a panel of 19 expert judges, including school leaders, experts, and education researchers. Their objectivity, professionalism, and high standards of the judging process will help establish the awards as an achievement to be highly sought after. The shortlisted includes Avisha Joshi of Lodha Oakwood School from India in teaching initiative.

“The Tes Awards for International Schools have given our inspiring international education colleagues across the world a new opportunity to celebrate innovation and success in a raft of important areas”, said International Editor for Tes Magazine, Dan Worth.

“The shortlist demonstrates some incredible achievements across the sector and showcases the best that international schools delivering either the British Curriculum or International Baccalaureate have to offer across the world.”

The awards have been supported by leading international school associations, including BSME (British Schools in the Middle East), COBIS, (Council of British International Schools), ECIS (The Education Collaborative for International Schools), FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia), and the IB (International Baccalaureate), a global leader in international education.

Debra Forsyth, CEO of BSME said, “It is a real pleasure to recognise the incredibly high standards of British curriculum schools in the Middle East. These shortlisted schools and teachers are a testament to the hard work and dedication teachers in the Middle East invest to help children excel.”

Colin Bell, CEO of COBIS said, “It is exciting to see what the best of British schools around the world have to offer. These awards demonstrate how British international schools offer a highly sought after education that gives children an opportunity to develop, flourish and succeed.”

Kam Chohan, Executive Director of ECIS said, “The Tes Awards for International Schools showcases the vibrancy of international education and how schools and teachers can positively impact the lives of children they teach.”

John Gwyn Jones MBE, CEO of FOBISIA said, “The Tes Awards for International Schools reflect the remarkable recognition given to British International Schools overseas in their commitment in promoting and fostering excellence through the outstanding learning environment that they provide for their students.”

Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of International Baccalaureate said, “IB Schools around the world put in the hard work and dedication to ensure their students receive an education to put them on the path to success. It has been inspiring to see the achievements of all the nominated schools and teachers, and how they build the foundations for their student’s futures.”
