The Chief of Defence Staff, General N. S. Raja Subramani, was hosted by Satya School, Gurugram for an inspiring interaction with students, sharing experiences and lessons from his journey in the Armed Forces. Also, present were Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Chairman, Satya School, and Manisha Malhotra, Director-Principal, Satya School, along with parents and school staff.
During the interaction, General Raja Subramani interpreted SATYA through five principles: Self-discipline, Accountability, Teamwork and Trust, Yearning to Grow and Learn, and Altruism. He encouraged students to see leadership not simply as a position, but as something reflected in everyday actions and choices. Through relatable examples, he emphasized the importance of taking responsibility, remaining curious, working together and using one’s abilities to contribute to the greater good.
The interaction gave students an opportunity to engage directly with General Raja Subramani, ask questions and hear first-hand his perspectives on leadership, service and personal responsibility. Students participated enthusiastically as he responded to their questions with examples drawn from his experiences. The discussion reinforced the importance of developing character alongside competence and encouraged students to remain open to learning and recognize the value of contributing to something larger than themselves.
Speaking on the occasion, Manisha Malhotra, Director-Principal, Satya School, said, “We are deeply grateful to General Raja Subramani for sharing his time and wisdom with our students. At Satya School, we believe education must do more than build academic excellence; it must also build character and purpose. For our students to hear from a leader who has devoted his life to the nation, and to see the values of SATYA come alive through his example, is an experience they will carry with them.”
