Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) has launched its first podcast series aimed at engaging students and the public with informative and meaningful content. The podcast series will provide an accessible platform to share knowledge, expert insights and information on topics of relevance to students and the wider public.The podcast platform was inaugurated by Mrs. Samyuktha Venkatachalam, Trustee, Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust.
For the first episode of the podcast series, Dr. K. Balaji Singh, Dean, Medical College, SRIHER, shared his valuable experiences and insights from his more than 38 years of service at the institution, where he began his professional career. The conversation explored his journey in becoming a surgeon, teacher and ultimately a surgical teacher. He spoke about the importance of clinical judgement, humility, ethics and effective communication, as well as the need to handle mistakes and complications with responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahesh Vakamudi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SRIHER, said that the launch marks SRIHER’s transition into a new era of evolution that would be remembered for years to come. He said this transformation has been made possible by the people who have devoted their lives to the institution, and it is important to chronicle their experiences. “The experiences of these individuals are invaluable and have played a crucial role in transforming Sri Ramachandra from merely a collection of concrete structures into a living, vibrant organisation,” he said. He added that their contributions, memories and journeys have shaped the institution and should be preserved for future generations. The podcast series, he said, would serve as a valuable platform for students and the community at large.
