Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, played host to The Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge, an engaging and thought-provoking international student initiative on Jan 17. Jointly organised by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Albania and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, the initiative brought together students from across Delhi to learn, interact, and explore global perspectives through a quiz-based format.

The event saw participation from over 200 students representing more than 30 prominent schools across the city, creating a lively atmosphere filled with curiosity, enthusiasm, and healthy competition. Designed to promote cultural exchange and global awareness at the school level, the challenge encouraged students to learn more about Albania, its culture, and the broader idea of international cooperation.

The occasion was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including the Honorary Consul General of Albania to India, members of the CBSE Board Management, and Dr. Ram Singh, Principal, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, highlighting the growing importance of global exposure in contemporary education.

Sharing his perspective, Dr. Ram Singh, Principal, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, added, “we believe learning should go beyond classrooms and textbooks. This initiative gave our students a refreshing exposure to global cultures and encouraged them to think, question, and engage with the world around them & specially about Albania. Such experiences play a vital role in shaping confident and informed individuals. Initiatives such as the Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge play a key role in introducing young Indian students to Albania’s heritage, values, and global outlook, while encouraging curiosity about lesser-known but strategically important regions of Europe.”

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Dikshu C. Kukreja, Honorary Consul General of Albania to India, said,“Engaging students at a young age is one of the most meaningful ways to build bridges between nations. The Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge is not just a quiz, it is an opportunity for students to broaden their worldview, understand different cultures, and develop a sense of global citizenship. Albania, a fast-emerging European nation in the Balkans, has been steadily strengthening its engagement with India across education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. Known for its rich history, vibrant traditions, and growing focus on international collaboration, Albania has shown a keen interest in fostering early cultural awareness and educational dialogue with Indian institutions.”

Also present at the event was Mr. Anand Prakash, a senior official from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, whose presence underscored the importance of people-to-people engagement and educational diplomacy in strengthening India’s international relationships. His participation highlighted the Government of India’s continued support for initiatives that foster global understanding and cross-cultural collaboration at the grassroots level.

The event concluded with enthusiastic interactions between students and dignitaries, leaving participants with a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and international understanding. The Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge stood out as a meaningful step towards nurturing globally aware students and strengthening people-to-people connections between India and Albania.
