An all-Bhutan delegation of 25 participants under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme programme conceptualised by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) attended an intensive seven-day training programme conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) in the last week of June. The participants for this on ‘Leaders Exploration and Development for Human Resource Managers’ programme are working with the Central, Local Government and Executive Ministries of the Government of Bhutan. IIM Kozhikode had designed this customised ITEC programme on a special request from the Royal Civil Service Commission, Royal Government of Bhutan.
The programme team led by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK, Programme Coordinator Prof. TN Krishnan and other experienced faculty members from the Institute mentored and trained the delegates on topics such as: Understanding changing HR landscape, Recruitment and Selection policy, Employee engagement and retention policy, Talent Hunting and Management, Conflict Resolution, HR Compliance and Rule Management, Interview structure and testing techniques along with industrial visits around Calicut town. The delegates from Bhutan represent diverse government offices like Royal Civil Service Commission, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Education and Skills Development, Dzongkhag Administration, Ministry of Finance, National Statistics Bureau and the District Administration of Wangdue Phodrang etc.
Speaking on the conclusion of the programme Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, thanked the MEA for their support in conducting the Institute’s seventh such in-campus ITEC programme and also the participants for their active contribution in knowledge-sharing during the course of the programme. Expressing their gratitude to Ministry of External Affairs, IIM Kozhikode and India as the host country in particular, the delegate participants of the ITEC programme from Bhutan recounted their rich learning from the customised programme designed by expert faculty members at IIM Kozhikode, in a free-wheeling interaction with Director IIMK.

IIMK Kozhikode first hosted ITEC participants in 2019 and this is the 7th batch of delegate participants to have visited Kozhikode for an in-Campus offline training programme.
