GITAM Deemed-to-be-University celebrated the graduating academic achievements of 1218 graduands at its 15th annual convocation ceremony held at its Bengaluru campus on July 13, in presence of Sudhanshu Mani, the Visionary Engineer of Vande Bharat Express, M Sribharat, President of GITAM (Deemed to be) University, and Prof. Dayananda Siddavattam, Vice-Chancellor, GITAM (Deemed to be) University.
Gold medals were awarded to outstanding students, acknowledging their exceptional academic performances and contributions, from different domains, including Technology, Science, and Management. Additionally, honorary doctorates were awarded to Ms. Leela Samson, renowned dancer and Padma Shri recipient, and Mr. Anand Malligavad, the “Lakeman of India” known for his water conservation efforts.
Sudhanshu Mani, emphasized the importance of transcending traditional education, stating, “In an era where modern skills buttressed by cross-cultural competence are paramount, the future demands a workforce adept in these areas. Educational institutions must prioritize fostering this ability in their students to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world. Education is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about applying it to solve real-world challenges.
