VidyaGyan, the leadership academy that empowers talented children from rural India through world-class education, has announced the opening of admissions for its 2026–27 Academic Session. The preliminary entrance examination will be held on November 30, 2025 across multiple centres in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for which registrations are open till October 25, 2025.
This year marks a major digital milestone for VidyaGyan, with the entire admission process now 100% online, making it simpler, faster, and more. Parents can now apply directly through the VidyaGyan Admissions Portal at www.vidyagyan.in using a smartphone or computer with internet access. This shift eliminates the need for physical forms or travel, ensuring convenience and safety.
To help applicants navigate the new process, VidyaGyan’s Call Center (1800-102-1784) and Block Education Officer (BEA) offices across districts will offer step-by-step assistance with online registration and queries.
Bishwajit Banerjee, Director, VidyaGyan Schools, said: “Rural India is full of children with exceptional talent and determination. What they often lack is not ability, but opportunity. VidyaGyan was created to change that. By going online this year, we are ensuring that every family – even in the most remote parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand – can apply with ease.”
The selection process includes three stages – a preliminary written test, followed by a second written test for shortlisted candidates, and personal interactions with selected students and their families.
Students currently enrolled in Grade V at a rural school, belonging to families with an annual income not exceeding ₹3 lakh, are eligible to apply. Applicants must also meet the age criteria – girls aged 12 years or below and boys aged 11 years or below. The Uttar Pradesh State Education Department supports VidyaGyan in identifying eligible students from across districts.
Over the years, VidyaGyan alumni have gone on to study at Stanford University, Cornell University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and are contributing to organizations such as Amazon, Teach For India, and the Indian Army – a testament to the academy’s mission of building future leaders from rural India.
Families are encouraged to visit www.vidyagyan.in and complete their 100% online applications before October 25, 2025.
