Serving as a vibrant platform for artistic expression, appreciation and cultural exchange, the 8th North East Cultural Fest 2025 at Sharda University campus turned into a grand celebration of region’s rich cultural heritage. The event held on March 24 brought together students, academicians, and dignitaries to celebrate with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The festival featured vibrant cultural performances from seven North Eastern states, highlighting their rich traditions through mesmerizing dance and soulful music. Performances included the energetic Laho dance from Meghalaya, the graceful Bihu dance from Assam, and other traditional folk forms, truly celebrating India’s diverse heritage. Prof. Rana Pratap Singh, Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University, emphasized the significance of cultural inclusivity and national unity through his presence and insightful address.
Chief Minister Sangma praised Sharda University for organizing such an event. He stated that such initiatives provide students from different states an opportunity to learn about the traditions and lifestyles of Northeast India. Similarly, students from the Northeast benefit from the exposure. He acknowledged that the university fosters a family-like atmosphere among students and lauded its infrastructure and academic approach.
P.K. Gupta, Chancellor of Sharda University, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural diversity, stating: “This celebration highlights our dedication to intercultural understanding and collaboration, strengthening our bond with diverse communities.”
