SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of the State Bank of India, has launched the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025. This year, the program will empower 23,230 meritorious students from humble and underprivileged backgrounds across India, nurturing the next generation of leaders and nation-builders. Additionally, as a continued effort to support the young minds of the nation, SBI commits ₹90 crore towards scholarship in FY26.
The scholarship covers students from Class 9 onwards up to Postgraduate programs, offering financial assistance ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹20,00,000 annually per year till the completion of course in which the scholar has been selected. Dedicated categories have been designed to support:
- School students (Class 9–12)
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate students at NIRF top 300 or NAAC A rated institutes / colleges
- Scholars at IITs and IIMs
- Students pursuing medical courses
- Students aspiring to study abroad
- SC/ST students pursuing master’s and higher education abroad at Top 200 QS ranking universities
Further, the eligibility for the scholarship is as below:
- Applicants must be Indian nationals
- Applicants must have secured at least 75% marks or 7.0 CGPA in the previous academic year
- Family income for school students should be ₹3 lacs or less
- Family income for college students should be ₹6 lacs or less
Speaking about the initiative, Shri Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, State Bank of India, said, “As we mark our Platinum Jubilee celebrations this year, we take immense pride in launching the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship. Through this initiative, we will support 23,230 of India’s brightest young minds from humble backgrounds, nurturing their aspirations and enabling them to realize their full potential. By creating a strong ecosystem around these scholars, we aim to empower them to become torchbearers of progress and contribute meaningfully to the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
