Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Feb 6 interacted with students during the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) at his residence in Delhi, offering guidance on examinations, stress management, skills, and long-term life goals.

Responding to a student’s query on confusion caused by differing advice from parents and teachers, Modi said every individual has a unique learning style and rhythm. He advised students to listen to suggestions but ultimately follow a study pattern that suits them, improving it through personal experience rather than external pressure.

On the issue of teachers moving too fast in classrooms, the Prime Minister said teachers should remain just one step ahead of students and suggested that chapters be announced in advance so learners can prepare beforehand. This, he said, would help generate curiosity, improve understanding, and prevent students from falling behind.

Modi highlighted the need to balance marks and skills, calling them “twin siblings.” He underlined the importance of both life skills such as discipline and adaptability, and professional skills that require continuous learning. He said education should not be limited to scoring marks but should prepare students for real-life challenges.

He highlighted that when he began Pariksha Pe Charcha there was one pattern, but over time he improved it, even conducting sessions in different states, changing the format while retaining the core. Students noted that the Prime Minister’s nature was very friendly and that he mingled easily with them, explaining that everyone should listen to different patterns, take good qualities from each, focus on their own, and gradually strengthen it.

During the interaction, students also showcased their creative talents by singing patriotic and inspirational songs, which the Prime Minister appreciated. He gifted students Assam’s traditional gamosa, describing it as a symbol of respect, cultural pride, and women’s empowerment in the North-East.

On managing exam stress, Modi advised students to remain fully involved in their studies, practice peer learning, and manage time effectively. He cautioned against excessive focus on marks, stating that exams are meant for self-assessment and overall development, not fear or comparison.

Responding to questions on distractions, gaming careers, household challenges, and competitive exams, the Prime Minister encouraged students to convert difficulties into strengths, pursue their interests constructively, and stay confident in their abilities.

The Prime Minister emphasized that reduced tension opens the mind to learning new skills such as singing, painting, or writing poems, and praised students who had begun creative pursuits.

Confidence gained from the book also helped students overcome fear of presentations. The Prime Minister explained that confidence comes from truth and experience, just as ordinary people can speak clearly when narrating events they witnessed. He stressed that students’ confidence arises from the truth of their own efforts and achievements.

He also spoke about India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 and urged students to take responsibility through skill development, cleanliness, use of indigenous products, and meaningful use of technology, including Artificial Intelligence.

The next episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha will be aired on 9 February 2026 at 10 AM.

The 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s unique interactive program, was announced in December 2025 for students from Classes 6 to 12, along with teachers and parents.  Organised on the MyGov portal (https://innovateindia1.mygov.in/) from 1st December 2025 to 11th January 2026, all registered participants completing the activity receive a certificate of participation from MyGov. The number of participants in this edition is yet to be made public.
