The Society for Transformation, Inclusion, and Recognition through Sports (STAIRS), a National Sports Promotion Organisation in collaboration with Satyawati College, Delhi University, is organizing the National Conference of Physical Education and Sports Sciences centered around the theme “Elevating Grassroots: A Pathway to Health, Fitness, and Olympic Excellence in India.”  With discussions on various themes and workshops to promote the overall physical development and well-being of athletes and students, the event is dedicated to building a healthier and more competitive India, turning the nation into a powerhouse of athletic talent.

The event is poised to be a significant step in Indian sports, aligning with the visionary outlook of the Prime Minister and the relentless efforts of the Sports Ministry to revolutionize the landscape through initiatives like the Fit India Movement and the Khelo India Program. The conference will host prominent dignitaries with Shri Gaurav Bidhuri, World Champion Bronze Medalist in Boxing as the Chief Guest, Shri Siddhartha Upadhyay, President of STAIRS Foundation, President Awardee and Former Governing Council Member of the Sports Authority of India as the key speaker to share his valuable insights and Dr. Sujay John, International Commentator & Assistant Professor at St. Stephen’s College. Professor Anju Seth, Principal Satyawati College and Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary, Associate Professor, Satyawati College also graced the event with their guidance and efforts. Sports Scientists from across the world participated in the conference and encouraged the students with their words of wisdom and experience.

The discussions and presentations will revolve around collaborative strategies to amplify the impact of grassroots initiatives. From upgrading sports infrastructure in schools to fostering a culture of wellness, the discussions aim to shape the narrative of Indian sports.

The conference also provided a platform for the students to showcase their passion and interest in Physical Education and Sports through the National Awards in Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The participants who submitted their entries with White Papers and Posters based on the themes will be facilitated during the award ceremony as a conclusion to the conference.

Talking about the conference and the need of the hour,  Siddhartha Upadhyay, President of STAIRS, Foundation, President Awardee, and Former Governing Council Member of the Sports Authority of India, said, “This conference is a perfect example of continuous collaborative efforts to further boost the importance of Physical Education in institutes and further develop the Sporting Spirit in India. Such platforms are the need of the hour where the efforts of all stakeholders — educational institutions, sports organizations, and corporate entities together create an unwavering force for the youth’s future. This event serves as a crucible for ideas, a platform where experiences and insights converge to script a narrative of health, fitness, and Olympic glory across India.”

Talking about the purpose of the seminar and emphasizing the importance of Physical fitness and Sports, Dr. Sunil Purohit, National Head of the esteemed Physical Education and Sports Science Division, STAIRS said, “Sports is an important pillar to ensure positivity and instil the sense of self-recognition amongst the youth in India.
