Ryan International Academy, Sarjapur, recently had the honour of hosting India’s celebrated badminton star Lakshya Sen as part of the Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2026 promotions in Bengaluru, organised by the Badminton Association of India.
Lakshya Sen, a World Championships bronze medallist, Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and a key contributor to India’s historic Thomas Cup victory, interacted with students in an inspiring and engaging session. During the visit, he shared insights into his rigorous training routine, mental toughness, match preparation, and the importance of balancing academics with sporting ambitions.
The badminton star also took part in friendly on-court games and rallies with students and badminton enthusiasts from across Bengaluru, creating an energetic and memorable experience for all present. Hundreds of students and sports enthusiasts participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The event aimed to motivate young learners by offering them a rare opportunity to interact with a national sports icon and gain first-hand understanding of the values that underpin success in sports—discipline, perseverance, consistency, and passion.
“At Ryan International Academy, we strongly believe in holistic education that nurtures both academic excellence and sporting talent. Lakshya Sen’s visit has been truly inspirational for our students, reinforcing the values of hard work, perseverance, and balance that we strive to instil in every child,” said Vinod Sharma, COO, Ryan Edunation Pvt. Ltd.
A key highlight of the programme was an interactive Q&A session, during which students sought guidance on pursuing sports careers, managing pressure, and maintaining a healthy balance between education and professional sports. The interaction left students highly motivated and inspired to pursue excellence both on and off the field.
