IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Foundation (TIF) – Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub (AWaDH) and Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: FR0014003TT8, DSY.PA) have announced their collaboration to drive advancements in India’s agricultural and water sectors through technology developments brought by Cyber Physical Systems (CPS).  The MoU signed between Dassault Systèmes and IIT Ropar TIF AWaDH aims to harness the power of technology to address key challenges in Indian agriculture sector.

Agriculture plays a pivotal role in India’s economy, contributing significantly to GDP and providing livelihoods to millions. As India faces the dual challenge of ensuring food security for a growing population and enhancing agricultural productivity in an environmentally sustainable manner, the role of technology becomes paramount. By combining technological expertise with a deep understanding of the sector’s needs, the collaboration strives to create a positive and lasting impact on the agricultural ecosystem as a whole.

The collaboration seeks to facilitate Skill Development to help create a skilled workforce that is equipped with the latest industry-ready capabilities, enhancing the overall quality and efficiency of CPS in agricultural practices. Additionally, the partnership will advance research and development initiatives that lead to the creation of homegrown technology, systems, and equipment for the agriculture sector. This emphasis on indigenous solutions will not only bolster the country’s self-reliance but also pave the way for sustainable growth.

“Empowering students to design and engineer products for a sustainable future is at the core of Dassault Systèmes’ mission. Through the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, we’re reshaping how students learn, collaborate, and innovate. Our partnership with IIT Ropar TIF AWaDH reflects our commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals equipped with industry-relevant skills. This collaboration extends beyond industries like agriculture, as we work together to shape a sustainable and innovative tomorrow,” said Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes.

“IIT Ropar is dedicated to fostering academic and scientific excellence among our students, empowering them to innovate and address real-world challenges across sectors. Within AWaDH, we actively promote and facilitate extensive interdisciplinary research in the realms of Agriculture and Water. This collaboration stands as a testament to this commitment, and we are thrilled to partner with Dassault Systèmes for this remarkable initiative. Through this collaboration, students will not only gain hands-on experience in utilizing cutting-edge 3D design and engineering technology but will also acquire invaluable insights into industry standards and best practices,” said Dr Pushpendra P Singh, Project Director, IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Hub, IIT Ropar, Rupnagar, India
