IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Foundation (TIF) – Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub (AWaDH) and Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: FR0014003TT8, DSY.PA) have announced their collaboration to drive advancements in India’s agricultural and water sectors through technology developments brought by Cyber Physical Systems (CPS). The MoU signed between Dassault Systèmes and IIT Ropar TIF AWaDH aims to harness the power of technology to address key challenges in Indian agriculture sector.
Agriculture plays a pivotal role in India’s economy, contributing significantly to GDP and providing livelihoods to millions. As India faces the dual challenge of ensuring food security for a growing population and enhancing agricultural productivity in an environmentally sustainable manner, the role of technology becomes paramount. By combining technological expertise with a deep understanding of the sector’s needs, the collaboration strives to create a positive and lasting impact on the agricultural ecosystem as a whole.
The collaboration seeks to facilitate Skill Development to help create a skilled workforce that is equipped with the latest industry-ready capabilities, enhancing the overall quality and efficiency of CPS in agricultural practices. Additionally, the partnership will advance research and development initiatives that lead to the creation of homegrown technology, systems, and equipment for the agriculture sector. This emphasis on indigenous solutions will not only bolster the country’s self-reliance but also pave the way for sustainable growth.
