IIT Madras and IEEE are organizing the 18th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS 2024) from 21st to 23rd December 2024 at the IIT Madras campus.
As part of the conference, a workshop on ‘Programming with Quantum Computer’ and ‘5G/6G Wireless Networks’ will be conducted on 21st December 2024. This workshop will be offered in Hybrid mode (online as well as on-campus (@ IIT Madras) with 20th December 2024 being the last date to register

Through this workshop, the organizers aim to provide valuable insights from industry subject matter experts to the participants, who will also earn an IIT Madras workshop participation certificate.
The programming with quantum computer workshop will include topics such as Quantum computing basics, Qiskit 101: Programming basics, Qiskit 102: Useful tools on quantum programming and enablers for applications, Applications of quantum computing
The 5G/6G Wireless Networks topic will include Introduction to wireless networks, Characteristics of 5G networks, 5G standards & Architecture, Key 5G concepts such as beamforming, Network slicing, Dynamic Spectrum sharing, Role of SDN & NPV in 5G infrastructure, Multi Access Edge compute (MEC), 5G Use cases and Marketplace, Introduction to 6G.

- Quantum computing – Basic background on programming. Participants to bring hteir laptops and have Qiskit installed.
- Wireless Networks – Familiarity with networking is preferable. Prior knowledge on wireless networks is not required.
- Workshop outcome – To enable participants to gain general awareness and skill them to work on real world applications
Each workshop will provide a good theoretical insight with demonstrations with a subsidized fee of INR 2,000/- + GST
