The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), in collaboration with industry partners is pleased to announce the launch of the Intelligent Product Development – Certificate Program (iPD-CP). Offered through IIIT-Delhi’s Centre for Intelligent Product Development (CiPD), this comprehensive 24-week, full- time on-campus program is designed to provide aspiring start-ups, recent graduates, young professionals, and students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and develop production-ready electronics products.

India’s ambition to achieve self-reliance in electronics and to establish itself as a “Product Nation” is driving a significant need for skilled professionals in the electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) and semiconductor sectors. Government initiatives such as “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” emphasize this national priority. The iPD-CP addresses this need by providing focused training in key areas of product development.

Key Program Features:

The iPD-CP distinguishes itself through its comprehensive approach to product development:

•              Integrated Curriculum: The program covers the breadth of product development, from conceptualization and design thinking to embedded systems, hardware design, and production readiness.

•              Practical Training: Participants engage in hands-on workshops, prototyping activities, and projects using industry-standard tools.

•              Industry Engagement: The program includes mentorship and training from industry professionals.

•              Product Focus: A core component of the program is the Capstone Project, in which participants develop a production-ready prototype, providing practical experience in product realization.

•              Entrepreneurial Support: The program offers guidance and support for participants interested in launching startups.

•              Scholarships: Students working on products with an intent of startup may be supported by the READY program of IHFC, the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi.

Differentiating Features:

While various programs offer training in embedded systems, the iPD-CP is differentiated by its holistic emphasis on the entire product development lifecycle. This includes a strong focus on design thinking, user-centered design, and production considerations, in addition to embedded systems design. The program’s Capstone Project and support for entrepreneurial ventures further distinguish it from programs that primarily focus on specific technical skills.

Eligibility:

The program is designed for:

•              Final-year engineering and diploma students

•              Recent graduates

•              Hardware startups and entrepreneurs

•              Industry professionals

Program Structure and Delivery:

The 24-week program is delivered in person at IIIT-Delhi and includes:

•              Instructor-led training

•              Hands-on labs

•              Emphasis on product development processes

•              A Capstone Project

•              Industry visits

Key Dates:

•              Admission Start: April 4, 2025

•              Application Deadline: April 28, 2025

•              Program Start Date: June 23, 2025

Fees and Scholarships:

•              Program Fee: INR 1,25,000 + GST

•              Installment options are available.

•              Discounts may apply for full payment in advance.

Scholarships:

IIIT-Delhi offers scholarships to recognize merit and support diversity:

•              Merit-Based Scholarships (20 Nos):
