India Didactics Association (IDA), preparing to hold the 14th edition is set to take place from 18th to 20th September 2024 in New Delhi, has strongly advocated for robust policies to promote public-private partnerships (PPP) to integrate  education and skilling through industry-academia collaboration. IDA says these partnerships can bring innovative solutions, increased funding, improved infrastructure, and practical, hands-on training programs and internships to equip students with the work-ready skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market.

IDA has also emphasized that to leverage the impact of government initiatives and budgetary allocations, there need to be concerted efforts in fostering industry-academia linkages. This will involve creating multi-stakeholder platforms for dialogue between educators, policymakers, and industry leaders, promoting research and innovation, and ensuring that educational content is relevant and future-focused.

The suggestion comes as a curtain raiser to IDA’s upcoming 14th edition.  The event brings together various stakeholders, including the government at central and state levels, companies offering educational products and services, and educators, to improve teaching and learning on a common platform. The India Didactics Association partners with Messe Stuttgart, a globally renowned trade fair company, to jointly organise Didac India 2024.

DIDAC INDIA is the largest event in Asia and the only one in India for educational resources and solutions for all levels and segments of the  Education and Skill Sector. Aditya Gupta, CEO, India Didactics Association, expressing his views, said, “Delighted to see the education and skill sector evolving and innovating. The government’s implementation of numerous schemes and the allocation of budget is certainly a transformative step towards enhancing education with a focus on skilling, increased industry engagements, and internships. We are confident that the 14th edition of Didac India will act as a milestone in promoting the Government’s vision and will create new collaboration avenues for a robust education ecosystem.”

Educational institutions as well as the industry get huge benefits from the industry-academia collaborations. From gaining access to the latest industry trends, technologies, and practices to practical education and collaboration with industry leaders, can enhance the institution’s infrastructure.

IDA is of the strong opinion that if phrases like “future skills” and “future-ready” are to become more than just buzzwords, there is an urgent need to bridge the gap between educational institutions and industries.
